Baker McKenzie Expands to City Quays 2
Global law firm, Baker McKenzie, has taken up occupancy of the 3rd floor at City Quays 2, adding to its existing presence in City Quays 1.
The move enables Baker McKenzie to expand its Belfast presence from 300 to around 450 staff providing support to the firm and its clients around the world with a range of legal and business services. .
Graeme Johnston, Belfast Harbour’s Property Director, said:
“Since Baker McKenzie located its Global Services Centre in City Quays 1 in 2015 the firm’s Belfast operations have continued to grow.
“Intrinsic to Belfast Harbour’s property strategy is a commitment to develop space in a manner which aligns with our tenants’ growth aspirations.
“For that reason we provide a variety of solutions, including smaller scale incubator space through to the 250,000 square feet City Quays 3 office which is currently in planning. There are currently over 5,000 workers based in City Quays and Clarendon Dock, and our ambition is that City Quays on completion will facilitate jobs and provide homes for 13,000 people on Belfast’s waterfront.”

“The growth of our Belfast Centre has been a remarkable success story and City Quays is very much home to the firm in Belfast. Having established ourselves in the city four years ago, our expansion underscores our commitment to Belfast and to Northern Ireland.”
In total Baker McKenzie occupies 40,000 sq ft in City Quays 1 and 2. Including Baker McKenzie, the 124,000 sq ft City Quays 2 is now 75% let to TP ICAP, ITV and U105. Northern Ireland based Graham’s completed the office fit out.
