Over the past three decades, Belfast has become one of the leading cruise ship destinations across the UK and Ireland. Every year we welcome around 150 ships, of varying sizes and from a wide range of countries, bringing hundreds of thousands of international visitors to the region.

Belfast Harbour’s cruise season kicks off in the Spring and runs continuously until the Autumn, with most vessels remaining for a full day in the Port, while others enjoy overnight visits. In addition to these calls, the Port also handles a number of turnaround cruises, where passengers begin or end their journey in Belfast, further enhancing the city’s position as a key player in the cruise industry.

Each year we welcome new arrivals to Belfast and mark these inaugural visits with a traditional plaque exchange ceremony aboard each ship with the Captain and their crew, helping further strengthen the links with these much-valued guests.
