Captain Michael Evans: In Memorium
It was with great sadness and that Belfast Harbour received the news of the loss of our friend and colleague, Captain Michael Evans, in the air crash at Cork Airport on Thursday 10th February. Our thoughts and prayers are with Michael’s wife and family. Michael will be greatly missed by all of his friends within Belfast Harbour.
It was with great sadness that Belfast Harbour received the news of the loss of our friend and esteemed colleague, Captain Michael Evans, in the air crash at Cork Airport on Thursday 10th February.
Michael’s colleagues and friends across the organisation extend their heartfelt sympathies and condolences to Michael’s wife and family during this very difficult time.
During his 9 years service with Belfast Harbour, Michael had built friendships with his colleagues and members of the Port Community and was held in high regard for his work and personal qualities.
Belfast Harbour has made available a book of condolences within the reception area of the Harbour Office to enable visitors and friends to mark Michael’s life with reflections and thoughts.

Funeral to take place in Sinclair Seamen’s Church, Corporation Square, Belfast BT1 3AJ at 1.30pm on Thursday 17th February 2011.
Interment to follow the service at Carnmoney Cemetery, Glengormley.
The Family of Captain Evans and Belfast Harbour invite mourners to visit the Harbour Office where refreshments will be available following the Service.
The family has asked for donations in lieu of flowers to be given to the Royal Irish Benevolent Fund and RNLI.
